praise and worship
Worship Pastor: Cynthia Alvarez
Do you know that praising God is the best thing to do first before anything else?
Have you ever been in a situation that you feel all alone? Or have you encountered a difficult situation in your life and you don't know what to do, like losing your job or suffering the loss of someone very close to your heart? Consider the good times such as when you receive a raise from your boss or earn high marks at school? What do you usually do during these moments? Praising God makes every circumstance of our lives complete, essential, and eminently worthwhile.
Webster defines the word praise as to say good things about and it is synonymous to words such as admire, commend, extol, honor, and worship. A definition of Christian praise is the joyful thanking and adoring of God, the celebration of His goodness and grace.1 This simply implies that the act of praising is rightfully due to God alone.
Why is praising God important? The reasons are countless. God deserves to be praised and He is worthy to receive our praise:
"For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods" (Psalm 96:4).
"Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom" (Psalm 145:3).
"I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies" (2 Samuel 22:4).
"You are worthy, our LORD and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being" (Revelation 4:11).

Seeds of Faith is a unique praise and worship ministry within My Fathers Vineyard. It is a small group of individuals who have been called to worship our Lord and Savior in a fun and exciting way. We praise Him with dance, human videos and drama and we are committed to worshiping Him with everything we have. This world can beat us up and flip us upside down but it can never take away our heart of praise.

Purpose:
To provide opportunities for women to know Jesus Christ, experience spiritual and personal growth, build Christian fellowships, share Jesus love and encourage others through hands on ministry.
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 13 (Love)
1. If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10. but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Helping with Baptism preparation and faith development
1 john 32-34
32 Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."
We welcome inquirers about Baptism, exchange needed information with them about procedures, schedule and administer preparation sessions, celebrate the sacrament of baptism with the family, and work with them in their faith development after the baptism. Baptism preparation is held the first
Sunday of the month in the sanctuary.

Life Hurts God Heals is a small group ministry dedicated to enabling young people between 12 and 22 to find healing for life's hurts through God's Word, and lifelong tools to maintain victory and take God's healing to others.
Life Hurts God Heals (LHGH) is specifically for students who have experienced pain or addiction including: drinking, cutting, pornography, eating disorders, troubled family dynamics, etc. If you are familiar with 12-step programs (i.e., Alcohol Anonymous, etc.) or Most Excellent Way, then you understand the basic structure for Life Hurts God Heals. However, Life Hurts God Heals is an 8-step group targeted specifically for students in middle school through college age, and is based on the beatitudes from the Bible. This curriculum provides lifelong tools for students dealing with unresolved hurt and pain. It was written by John Baker, Doug Fields and Megan Hutchinson as a result of seeing the unmet pain of students in their youth ministry at their home church.

WHO CARES ABOUT GAYS!
God does. Jesus does. Satan does.
Do you ?
In 1998, Pat Rossi, the founder of LAF accepted Jesus and was baptized into the Southern Baptist community. After twenty-five years of living within the closeted gay community she knew that she, and countless others she had known over the years, had been born without an attraction for the opposite sex. This otherwise unknown group of men and women were told by their religion and society that their feelings were not real. Religion taught them they must renounce their feelings and become heterosexual and society told them that if they were not heterosexual then they must be homosexual.
