Wes Alvarez
Lead Pastor
Pastor Wes grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and graduated from Tate High School. He spent 8 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves, and worked shift-work for 17 years. He is married to Cynthia and they have two children, Dylan and Bailey. In 2001, he surrendered his life completely to Jesus Christ after being delivered from drug addiction and self.
He spent 2002 and 2003 speaking in jails and rehab centers about deliverance through the power of Jesus. In late 2003, My Father’s Vineyard (MFV) was birthed in their home.
Pastor Wes was ordained in 2007, the same year he became the full time Pastor at MFV. Since then the church has grown and started many other ministries, but has never deviated from the mission of “Choosing to do life together, while recovering the lost and restoring the fallen, discovering tomorrow’s Christian today.”
He continues to preach deliverance and reconciliation through Jesus from the pulpit at MFV, in the streets, and from the seat of his motorcycle in Pensacola and cities all across the United States, Canada, and Israel.
Pastor R. Wesley Alvarez holds a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Covenant Bible College and Seminary.
His heart’s desire is to disciple as many people as possible in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Cynthia alvarez
Worship and Co-Pastor
Cynthia Alvarez is the worship Pastor at MFV. She leads the worship team and congregation in creating an atmosphere that lifts up Jesus and welcomes the Holy Spirit.
In 1993, Cynthia married Wes Alvarez. Together, they are the founding Pastors of My Father’s Vineyard, which began in their home in 2003. They have 2 children Dylan and Bailey, who are married and now starting families of their own.
Pastor Wes and Cynthia were determined to reach out to the lost and fallen, helping them discover a life free from bondage to sin, and full of the love of Jesus.
Cynthia also coordinates “KidzFest” each year. Worship is always exciting and set in an atmosphere of fun original themes. She encourages each child to learn Bible verses that will help build a solid foundation for life. She believes and encourages everyone to know that there is no “unior Holy Spirit”.
Paul & susan simpson
Mission M25 Directors
Paul and Susan Simpson serve as the Mission M25 Directors. They oversee all outreach ministries in our church. They are also very invested in the drama team and have created wonderful productions. Paul serves on the worship team on Sundays.
MICHAEL & CATHERINE BONSALL
Pastoral Care Team
Michael grew up in Louisville, Kentucky until moving to Pensacola, FL in 1997. Michael served in the US Air Force as a Medical Service Specialist. Married to Catherine H. Bonsall. Attending MFV since 2014 and graduated from Covenant Bible College and Seminary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Theology and also have Chaplain Certification. Currently serves on the Usher team as well as Pastoral Care Leader. Michael loves Jesus and serving in every way possible.
Cathy was born and raised in Pensacola, FL and is a descendant of one of the five founding families. Cathy is married to Michael D. Bonsall Sr. Cathy has an AA in Theology and recently graduated CBCS with a BS degree in Christian Counseling. Cathy also has Chaplain certification through Covenant Bible College and Seminary. Cathy currently serves on the Prayer Team and Pastoral Care Team. Cathy has a heart for Jesus and loves serving in every way.
